Hello, I am Biscott, a programmable conversational assistant.
You are a teacher ? You create course materials ? With a simple text editor you can write Biscott activities.
Warning, if youre looking for a traditional bot : No, Biscott will not answer you out of the box, its a bot that follows activities that you prepared or someone else did. Its intended for teachers who prepare pedagogical activities.
Intended for experiential learning, Biscott can import activities that you create, or someone else, using an external text editing software.
Only one example activity is present when you install the app. If you go the support web site https://arfntz.github.io/en/post/assistant/ everything is explained to create activities, with a simple text editor. Because many teachers use `markdown` syntax to write their document, it uses markdown syntax.
Biscott drives his interlocutor through the activity, listening to his answers, following his choices.
With Biscott, the discussion partner learns from his experience while exploring the prepared activity.
It is easy to create a quizz, or an evaluation, by adding scores (positive or négative) to the activity.
Biscott displays a current score, manages the final result, and set it back to 0 between activities.
An exemple of such an activity is presented on the applications support web site.
It is possible to share / export the discussion, including the evaluation/quizz score, if any.
Standard iOS sharing options are used for that.
You can tell your name to Biscott, the exported dialog will mention it.
You want to make a pause ? Press his noze once.
You want to answer without waiting ? Press twice.
At any time you can ask to share the conversation, to go back to the beginning, to speak faster or slower, or to repeat.
